About Museum on Main Street
Museum on Main Street (MoMs) is a Smithsonian outreach program that engages small town audiences and brings revitalized attention to underserves rural communities. We partner with state humanities councils to bring traveling exhibitions, educational resources and programming to small towns across America through their own local museums, historical societies and other cultural venues.
Smithsonian Grant
The EAST Initiative in collaboration with Museum on Main Street at the Smithsonian offered a grant opportunity for all EAST programs through the Stories: YES initiative. The grant awards chosen program applicants up tp $1,000 for projects that met the requirements. The goal of the grant is to bring national educational resources and programs to the chosen applicants local museum.
